Eid Mubarak

Inshallah everyone is having a blessed and wonderful eid. If you don't celebrate I hope your having a good Saturday anyway :)

What did we do? Nothing of course such is Eid in Saudi for us. It is very cold outside at least cold in desert reference. One thing I have noticed after living here for only six years that if you start to get 70 degrees I think it is starting to get chilly. Mind you living in Chicago area for some time 70 degrees to me was a great day and I would hand outside. Now, brrrr get a jacket. At night it gets very cold and the heat is even turned on. I argued with Mr. Man before I moved here "It doesn't get cold in Saudi man, what are you nuts? Why should I drag all these winter coats there?" But I actually go out and buy them now.

So a day inside for the girls, Mariam is sick and Jihad is out most of the time playing with a friend who visits from Riyadh on vacations. That boy was here 8am, the two of them planned it. He is an early riser which is good for Jihad who is the same way. The girls were getting bored so I thought I good thing to do was make little pizzas. Noor actually makes the dough the only thing that woman can make (she is leaving soon alhamdulillah I'm going to have a big celebration and everyone is invited the day she leaves). The girls quickly wanted to join in, no problems for me and upset for Noor but she'll survive.

I layed out some wooden cutting boards for them and they went to work, with a little help. Even Mariam got involved, cold and all,and that little roller did the trick for her.

Jihad saw what was going on and left his friend in order to roll out some dough and make a few pizzas. The boy always loved to be in the kitchen which is something I would like to encourage. I guess it would help if I liked to cook.

We aren't big on toppings, Hannah likes olives and I enjoy them on the little pizzas as well. Mariam was all in with the toppings, not to the liking of her siblings.

The finished product- looks good

How do they taste Mariam?

Come on they can't be that bad Leyna loves 'em

When was the last time that girl combed her hair????

Really they tasted good, I took that pic when Mariam was about to sneeze. Perfect shot to make a fun LO.
